EV chargers, installed properly

Type 2 wallbox installs, load management and OCPP-ready smart chargers. We size the cable, the breaker, and the charger to suit your car and your switchboard.

What's included

Everything we cover under ev charging

If you don't see what you need below, give us a call - there's a good chance we still do it.

Before you wire in a wallbox

EV charging is more than bolting a box to a wall

The wallbox itself is the easy part. The decisions around it are where most home installs go sideways. Three things we sort properly.

Site walk before the quote

Where the car parks, where the cable runs, where the box mounts. We come out and look in person - we don't quote off a photo.

Switchboard capacity test

A 7kW charger is a serious continuous load. We test what your existing board can actually carry, and only upgrade if it genuinely needs it.

Cabling sized for tomorrow

Pulled to handle 22kW even if you're starting at 7kW. Heavier cable now costs a fraction of re-running the lot when you upgrade the car.

Recent EV charger installs

A handful of recent home and workplace charger jobs around Launceston - hover for the brief.

Single 7kW Wallbox, Norwood

Wall-mounted Wallbox in a single garage, charging overnight on off-peak. Load check showed no switchboard upgrade was needed.

Two-car household, Riverside

Tesla Wall Connector in the garage plus a 22kW Wallbox on the driveway, both load-sharing through the main switchboard so they never trip the main.

Solar-prioritising charger

Wallbox installed with solar-diversion enabled - the car only draws from the grid when the panels can't keep up with the charge rate.

FAQ

Questions we get asked

Anything we haven't covered? Call 0438 961 005 and we'll talk it through.

7 kW or 22 kW?+
7 kW is plenty for overnight charging at home. 22 kW only helps if you have three-phase power.
Will it work with my solar?+
Yes - most smart chargers can be set to prioritise solar production.
Do I need a switchboard upgrade?+
Maybe - depends on your existing board. We check during the site survey.
Which brand do you recommend?+
For most homes, Wallbox or Tesla Wall Connector. For commercial, OCPP-compliant units.
